Kyla Kane from Vancouver Technical Secondary School of Vancouver, British Columbia, won the first prize for the best combined score of three recitations in English in 2013 Poetry in Voice competition.
As I was preoccupied listening to voices on the move, another voices were moving in Vancouver. The 2014 Poetry in Voice fourth annual poetry recitation competition held at Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre.
I am aware that the teachers encourage budding poets to join the competition.
Powering up the computer first thing Monday morning at work, I enjoy checking what’s happening at the school level. The best way for me to find out is to turn on the tweets. As it turned out, tweets are flying all over the place.
We won, again, on the Poetry in Voice!
Roan Shankaruk from Vancouver, BC, from the same school, Vancouver Technical Secondary is the 2014 winner.
I have no idea what she recited. I seek, searched and tweeted just to find out what poem and poet she chose. I suppose, I just have to wait. I will update this post as soon as I have more information.
